The Walk: At Quinta de Baixo. Head east up the hill on a farm track & finally into a wooded section along the ridge. The circular walk continues along farm tracks to Vimeiro. Continue through centre ( optional coffee ) then up to a good view point at the 2 x windmills. Returning back down we make our way back north to the start point.
Note – This walk involves a total of over 30 mins. on tarmac roads.

Once on top of the ridge we walk to the edge of the amphitheatre, see photo above, with excellent views down the steep slope. We make a further, steep climb and then descend via a track into a valley and return to the start point.

From the village of Aljubarrota and then the outskirts of the village of Cadoico.
This walks begins with the significance of Aljubarotta to the birth of Portugal as a nation. Aljubarotta is famous for the battle of 14 August 1385 when Portugal first established independence from the Castilian Kingdom. Hence the significance of the timing of this walk. It’s a combination of country and village roads and bush tracks.

The meeting/start point is just off the first roundabout on the N8 coming from Alcobaca. You’ll see a garden centre on the right just past the roundabout heading north through Aljubarotta. There is plenty of car parking on the lower or south side of the Garden Centre (Teciplante – Viveiros de Plantas).

The walk starts at the Sunset Disco Bar (closed for ever) in the Rua da Fiação – Fervenca and from there we walk towards the Your Hotel & Spa Alcobaça , following we cross the Vestiaria woods and return back to the Sunset Disco Bar.
Most part of the walk is on easy ground, some part uphill but not too steep.

How to reach:
Coming from Valado dos Frades , you follow after the round about leading to the motorway , the N8-5 towards Alcobaça. About 600 metres after the SPAL factory on your left side , you will see the bord Fervença.
Right after , there is a sign for Your Hotel & Spa , enter that small road to the end where you see the hotel at your right side , turn left and follow the road for 800 meter and on your right you will find the Disco.
An easy walk (total 62 metre ascent ) from Salir do Porto across sand dunes & quiet roads ( 3 km ) to Sao Martinho do Porto & back on the recently rebuilt boardwalk.
