The Walk
A circular walk from the island from Baleal north along the beach to Praia Almagreira
A circular walk from the island from Baleal north along the beach to Praia Almagreira returning along the bluffs above the beach to the starting point. The outward path is on the beach which is hard packed and easy to walk. The return is along the path on the bluffs overlooking the ocean followed by a walk to the seaward tip of Baleal to the chapel. The starting point for the hike is at the parking lot on Baleal Island just across the beach via a narrow causeway, there is more parking on the shore just across from the island. You can drive directly to the parking lot on the island or park on the shore and walk across the causeway to the starting point. This walk is almost completely flat, but as mentioned above, it is only recommended that you attempt it at or near low tide.
