The walk begins in Reguengo Grande next to the Junta de Freguesia where there is a café and parking. During the first half of the walk we will follow well maintained trails through scenic forests of pine and eucalyptus trees. On our way we will include a short detour and visit the charming Jardim da Celeste. As we approach Moledo the landscape shifts into a more agricultural and livestock farmland. There the trails will have some small inclines and are not so well maintained any more, so bring your poles if you are used to them and we could potentially come across some muddy spots. Please be reminded that for safety reasons dogs must be kept on a non-extendable short leash at all times. You are personally responsible for your animal.
A walk along the cliffs with fine views along the coast
A walk close to the cliffs with fine views along the coast and the bay of São Martinho do Porto. We pass by a chapel – rebuilt in 2020 , and a former customs house. The walk follows narrow paths (can be overgrown), wide tracks and stretches of loose sand. Some of the descents are steep so good shoes and walking poles are recommended. This walk combines elements of other walks.
The meeting point is along a side road on the south side of Salir do Porto. From Salir do Porto drive uphill towards Foz do Arelho and at the top of the hill turn right onto a side road. There is a row of modern holiday houses on the left. Drive for 150 metres to an open area where there is parking.
The Walk: This circular walk is a mixture of woodland & coastal tracks with about 2 km of quiet roads. The walk starts along the flat area near to the N 242 road to Nazare. After crossing the main road the route goes up through the woodland towards Serra dos Mangues A section along the road before turning off left towards Salgado beach & the viewpoint. The next part follows coastal tracks , ending near Facho. Towards the end of the walk , descend to Sao Martinho centre & the seafront, where you can choose to stop for coffee / lunch. There my be slight detours due to recent storm damage.
This circular 12,8 km walk starts at Pinhal which is part of Óbidos. It will take us towards Sobral do Lagoa which is the area where they grow the sour cherries used to make the ginja. The walk will take us through orchards and forestial areas mainly on rural tracks, but also on a quiet road from Sobral downhill to the main road. At about halfway we will be able to see the Óbidos castle to the east and also the lagune to the west. On our way back to Pinhal the trail will take us through a pine and eucalyptus forest near A-da-Gorda. Please be reminded that all dogs must be kept on a short leash at all times. In case of an accident dog owners will be kept personally responsible for their animal.
A circular walk from Óbidos passing through Capela de Santo Antão
Moderately challenging for distant and short ascents. There is a viewpoint near the church in Arelho, where we can take a short rest, but NO cafe or WC along the way. Plan accordingly.
Park in the free lot behind Prohibition Bar. We’ll gather at the bus stop across the street from the CGD bank and begin our hike along the northern flank of the Obidos castle wall, cross the RR track and walk a ways along a flat agricultural trail. We’ll skirt around Arelho, through Carregal and out to some orchards and fields near Trás do Outeiro. There’s a short ascent to Capela de Santo Antão with stunning views, after which we have one final descent and ascent back to the parking lot.
SUGGESTIONS: Bring a mask to cover your nose in case farmers are spraying — one never knows! Use mosquito spray – I’ve been attacked by gigantic bugs in the past. Raingear — it is Portugal, after all.
Timing
The walk is about 13.5 km. and is expected to take about 3-4 hr.

A quite easy 12 km walk through an agricultural landscape near Atouguia de Baleia / Peniche. It will take us along some very fertile agricultural land where they grow lots of vegetables and where we can see the southern coast of Peniche in the distance. The walk has some ups and downs, but does not have steep climbs and will mainly be on rural tracks.
Please note that for safety reasons all dogs must be kept on a short leash at all times. In case of an accident dog owners will be kept personally responsible for their animal.
Beautiful but challenging walk . Originally done as a short walk – but due to the steep hills, we now change to a Friday walk.

The walk starts in the centre of Reguegno do Fetal. Steady climb to begin on local road , followed by ascent to two different hills. Total ascent approx. 340 metre. This is a marked trail on rocky tracks with sections of wooden steps ( roped ) . During the climb to the 2nd hill we come across impressive limestone arches which are used by others for rock climbing. There are excellent views at several points across the valley. At the top of the 2nd hill is a monument , before we take the marked path (all downhill) back to the start in Reguegno do Fetal .
The walk is challenging but described by the Tourist Office as fantastic for hikers.
Timing
The walk is about 6 km and is expected to take about 3 hours

The path will take us mainly through forest areas on tracks built for the construction of windmills. The walk distance is about 11 km and is quite easy, but after the rain there could be some muddy spots. Please be reminded that for safety reasons dogs must be kept on a short leash at all times.
