The Walk
Nice walk nearby Pataias and Praia de Parades da Vitoria
Praia de Paredes da Vitoria is 6 km west of the town of Pataias. This is a combination of two of the trails from Percursos Pedestres em Terras de Cister – PR16 and PR17 – Alcobaça
Municipality.
The route begins in Vale de Paredes, in the garden near the Etar building. We’ll continuethrough the valley along Rua dos Moinhos which leads to over a dozen water mills dating back to the 18th century; the mills were used for grinding cereal. The route continues along the road along the valley and ends near a water collection station. Not far beyond this point, we will walk up a steepish sandy incline to go across the former pine forest areaheading towards Praia de Paredes da Vitória. From there we will drop down and return along the beach to our starting point but visiting the Azeiche Mine ruins (dates back to1843) along the way.
