Walk location:  Around the reservoir near Peniche

The Walk:  A circular route following closely the water’s edge of the reservoir.  The first half is along a track and the second half is on grass next to the reservoir.

Timing:  The walk is about 12 km and is expected to take about 3 hrs.

Car Meeting Point:  At 10:30 from the parking area at the dam wall of the reservoir.

Walk location:  The dam near to Atouguia da Baleia, Peniche

The Walk:  The route is mostly flat and on paths or quiet roads along the reservoir.  This is a linear walk.

Timing:  The walk is 12.7 km and is expected to take about 3 hrs

Car Meeting Point:  The meeting place is at the lot next to the dam at Atouguia da Baleia at 09:30 am.  We will car share to the village of Reinaldes.

Walk location:  Circuit of Barragem de São Domingos, Peniche

The Walk:  The first half follows the edge of the barragem then goes inland a little with some road walking through the village of Reinaldes and with gentle slopes.  Most of the route is along beaten earth tracks.

Timing:  The walk is 11.5 km lasting 4 hrs.

Walk location: A 7 km walk on the ridge to the south of Serra del Rei.

The Walk: This is a hilly walk on firm tracks involving a total of 3 km up hill with slopes of 10 to 14 %. There are good views to the north.  The walk can be extended.

Timing: The walk is about 7 km and is expected to take about 2.5 hrs.

Car Meeting Point: The roundabout at the Amoreira exit from the IP6 at 10:15 am. See the Notes section below for directions.

Notes: Directions to meeting point:

From Caldas da Rainha take the A8 south (towards Lisboa). After passing Óbidos take the IP6 to Peniche. Take the first exit signed Amoreira. Wait at the first roundabout. Nico will meet you there. We will exit the roundabout towards Pó.
