Miradouro da Foz do Arelho (FOS06S)

A walk along the Serra do Bouro coast and inland forest.

The Walk: The walk starts by the old discotheque in Foz do Arelho. The first part is heading north along the sea. Mostly on narrow trails and dirt roads for a bit more than an hour. Then we cross Estrada da Atlantica and follow Rua da Pedreiria and unmarked dirt roads through Serra da Bouro back to the Discotheque. The first part of the walk has some ups and downs with moderately steep slopes. Poles are useful for balance and strength if you have them. The second part of the walk is more easy. Dogs on short leash as usual.

Meeting and start point

This walk starts in the parking area next to the abandon disco near the Fos do Arelho Mirrador. From the
Rotunda Ouvir o Mar take the unpaved road between Variante Atlintica and Rua Eng. Paiva e Sousa exiting the traffic circle.

Timing

The walk is about 6.6 km. and is expected to take about 2 hrs, plus extra for coffee.

Coffee stop

We can meet after the walk for coffee at the cafes next to the fisherman statue in Fos do Arelho.
