Walk location: A walk on the land side of the ridge at Serra de Pescaria, between São Martinho do Porto and Nazaré.
Originator: John
The Walk: A linear walk along the ridge by the sea with views into the Coutos of Alcobaça, the “tifónico” valley of Caldas da Rainha and further inland to the Serra dos Candeeiros. To the west occasional views of the coast. A beaten earth track and then a quiet road towards the end of the walk. There is one steep climb and a longer gradual climb. The track gets very muddy in winter. Dinosaur footprints can be seen with a bit of imagination.
Timing: The walk is about 5km and is expected to take about 1.5 hrs.
Car Meeting Point: We meet at a roadside parking place just north of the café “Padaria 33” at 10:15 am; it’s about 100 metres before the cross-roads in Serra Pescaria. We will car share to the walk start point.
