Pescaria, Bom Jesus, Venda Nova (pes12L)

Walk location:  A coastal walk around Serra da Pescaria which lies near the coast between São Martinho do Porto and Nazaré.

Originator:  John

The Walk:  A circular route on beaten earth tracks. Some steep descents and ascents throughout the walk with views along the coast. On the land side of the ridge we descend towards Famalicão, but pass to the north of the vila. We then climb back to the coastal ridge and descend to Salgado Beach.  The final part of the walk involves a steep climb back to Serra da Pescaria.  If the weather is clear there will be fine views along the coast and inland.  In wet weather there will be muddy and slippery stretches.
This route follows a marked walk for some of the way – PR2 (Pequena Rota 2) managed by the Câmara of Nazaré.

Timing:  The walk is about 12.5 km and is expected to take about 3.5 hrs, plus extra for the coffee stop.

Car Meeting Point:  We meet at a roadside parking place just north of a café at 10:30 am; it’s about 100 metres before the cross-roads in Serra Pescaria.
