Walk location: The ridge on the Serra dos Candeiros on the east side of Alto da Serra, Rio Maior.Originator: Chris Coell
The Walk: A linear walk along a main access track on top of the ridge as far as the quarry then return, following several Wind turbines. Good views to the coast.
Initially an ascent from the windmill to top of ridge then level. The track may be dry & dusty and is exposed to the wind. Forecast NNW at 26 km/hr. Also protection from strong sun and water.
Picnic stop at a suitable location at about half way.
Timing: The walk is about 13 km and is expected to take 3.3 to 4 hours.
