Rio Alcoa and Monte São Brás (ccl01L)

Walk location:  Circular walk from Valado dos Frades

Originator:  Chris Coell

The Walk:  The first section is on flat, farm tracks close to the river Alcoa and a good chance to warm up in winter.  After crossing two waterways and a road bridge we take a steady ascent up to the ridge towards the vila of Pederneira.  At the edge of the vila we cross a main road via a pedestrian crossing and walk through a pine forest towards Valado dos Frades.  The last part may involve some road walking.  Steep ascent for 20 x minutes.  The total ascent is 180+ metres.
